top 5 under £5 | basicjaz

Today's post is going to be my top makeup products 5 under £5. I usually wear drugstore makeup and have almost since I started wearing makeup so I've figure out my favourite brands and my favourite of each product...Here is my top 5 makeup products under £5...

1. Rimmel Stay matte powder - £3.99

My favourite face powder - ever. I like to use the shade transparent as it matches perfectly what ever shade foundation I wear. I found that it minimises the look of my pores and helps to even out my skin. Also this powder does work for baking but only with a sponge because its hard to pick up enough powder with a brush. Not only this but it is extremely affordable at £3.99. I've had two of these and will buy a new one when I finish because it is currently my preferred powder. You can buy Rimmel products from most drugstores and online retailers; Superdrug, Boots, Feelunique

2. W7 Lipstick - Various shades - £4.95

The W7 lipsticks are just delightful, a while ago W7 sent me a selection of products including their lipstick in the shade Viva la Berry - Glam berry and it is such a lovely purple especially for use in winter. All of the W7 products are reasonably priced and great dupes for high end products. I would recommend the brand as well as the products they sell that I have tried. You can buy their products from their website or in store at many outlet stores and Asda I believe.

3. Maybelline Babylips - £2.99

Babylips are an essential in my makeup collection... I'm sure most would agree. I have previously owned almost every single UK babylips at one time or another. I currently have around 5/6. My favourites include; Cherry me, Melon Mania, Grapefruit Zing and Sweet apple (only available in winter months) I would really recommend you check these out. They are sold (and often on 3 for 2) in Superdrug and Boots but can be found almost anywhere to be honest.

4. Body Fantasies body sprays - £3.99

Body Fantasies are an American brand that fairly recently begun selling their products in the UK. A while ago I got hold of their Pink Grapefruit and Twilight fragrances and they smell so great. The Pink Grapefruit spray smells sweet and fruity and the Twilight smells more musky. I would really recommend you check them out. A few of my friends now have their sprays too as the sprays are just so fantastic. You can purchase their sprays at Superdrug and Gordons Chemists for £3.99.

5. Batiste Dry Shampoo - £2.99

Batiste is my personal favourite dry shampoo brand. I'm pretty sure I use dry shampoo more often than most - why? In addition to use on old/ greasy hair, I use dry shampoo to add volume to my hair on first day hair because my hair is volume less. I usually use batiste's dry shampoo in 'fresh' because it smells amazing. In my opinion Batiste is the best drugstore dry shampoo brand because it's so affordable and works so well. Batiste is sold at Wilko, Boots, Superdrug and most grocery stores.

I hope you enjoyed my top 5 under £5. Thank you for reading. This will be my last blog post before Christmas so; make sure you enjoy your holidays and stay safe.

what's on my iphone | basicjaz

I wanted to write one of these a while ago but I forgot (oops) anyway here it is... I currently have the iphone SE in Gold and its my favourite phone yet - It has a high quality camera, a very clear screen and isn't too big for me to hold in one hand.

When you first turn on my phone screen the first thing you see is my lock screen. I took this photo in St. Ives in Cornwall and the view was so pretty and I love this photo. Also all of my best photos are now for sale on Foap and Marked shot now for commercial use which are both apps that you'll see later.

The next photo is my home screen...
As you can see I have everything in neat little folders to keep it organised. The first app is messages which I believe is self explanatory I guess. Then my calendar where I schedule all of my upcoming blog posts. The next few are are photos, camera, weather, clock, music, notes and settings - these are all apps that my phone came with.

I next have the Natwest online banking app so that I can monitor my spending but lets be real as soon as I receive money it's gone already.

Then 'Followers' which I use to track my followers on Instagram. To be fully unlocked it will need a few in app purchases but it tracks;

- Users who unfollowed you,
- Users who are not following you back,
- Users who have blocked you,
- Ghost followers/ Inactives
- Users who have deleted your comments.

Then I have YouTube - I find it's easier just to have the app than to watch from safari. I watch quite a bit of YouTube to be honest...

My favourites are;
- Shane Dawson
- Tanya Burr
- Trisha Paytas
- Onision
- Roxxsaurus
- The Psychic Twins.

After YouTube I have a folder... In this folder I have my photo editing apps. (sorry I never labeled my folders - ooopppss) In this folder I have FaceTune and Phonto.

I use FaceTune to touch up any photos that need fixing. I often use it to whiten the background of a photo or touch up any discolouration. FaceTune costs £4.49 in the app store but is very worth it.

Phonto is second and I use this to add text to my photos. The app comes with some basic fonts but I would recommend downloading some fonts to the app. You can do this on dafont.com and use them in the Phonto app which I think is really great! Phonto is free to download in the app store and fonts are free to download from DaFont. You can use Phonto to watermark/ title your photos for Instagram.

 In the next folder I have all of my Money earning apps. Yes that's a thing... All of these 4 I use and would recommend. The first is Panel App which tracks your location and asks you questions about which shops you go to and prefer. This is really simple because you only have to open the app every few days and answer a few questions.

The next is TV smiles which is a quiz app which I really enjoy. All you do is answer questions and give your opinion to earn 'smiles' It's really simple and I quite enjoy it. You can also download this from the app store. The cash out is extremely quick as well! I've already got 18,945 points!

Then Raffler, it's so easy. Enter daily by watching two ads and be in with the chance of upward of winning £1,000. Raffler is another app you can download from the apple store.

The last app is Shopmium and it is a cashback app for iphone. Simply purchase a product from the list; scan the recepit and products barcode to get up to 100% of the price credited to your account. So simple yet so helpful. My referral code is KFFEYMCR to get 100% cashback on a Lindor bunny after sign up.

My next folder contains;
- Amazon
- Paypal app
- The apple app store

which needs no explaining.

This folder is my 'stuff I use sometimes' folder

The gmail app is very useful except I hardly ever check my emails because I'm lazy. wow 150 notifications.

Betternet is a VPN app I use to access social media on my school wifi because my school blocks Instagram and Snapchat from the WiFi. When using Betternet it slows down the WiFi but unblocks everything which is very helpful.

WhatsApp is a messaing app which i use to connect with those abroud or even those with android phones (as they don't have imessage.)

Memrise is an app I use for school because my Spanish homework is set on here and I must get a certain amount of 'points' every week to complete the homework.

The next app is Merged and it's a game where you must match the colours to create new blocks. When you run out of space the game ends. My current high score is 879 (if you have the app what's your score?)

The last folder is just apps where I sell my photos which aren't very interesting but there is Markedshot and Foap.

All of the remaining apps are my social medias.

Spotify - basicjaz
Snapchat - basic-jaz (my public snapchat because I dont give out my personal snapchat)

naked tan product review | basicjaz

A few days after first use of 'Naked tan goddess
 bronzing mouse'
I would like to start off my post by saying that all of the below opinions are mine and  100% honest. They are not influenced by Naked Tan. This is not a payed promotion.

Naked Tan sent me a few products so I could try them out and tell y'all what I thought. Naked Tan is an Australian, vegan friendly tanning brand. They stock a wide array of high quality, professional tanning products. To achieve the perfect tan Naked Tan recommend a three step process.

1. Prepare - Naked Tan also stock a body cleanser and an exfoliator to prepare your skin before you tan. This step is optional but can really help to create a 'blank canvas' before you tan.

2. Tan - Obviously this is the most important step... Naked tan stock a variety of tanning products from tanning mouse to gradual tan. In my case I recommend the 'Naked Tan Goddess bronzing mouse' as that is the tan I tried. However, you can visit their website and find the best tan for you.

3. Maintain -  Keep up that tan! I also tried Naked Tan's 'goddess instant tan' I would recommend that you do use an instant tan on occasion especially when your legs are on show. You can use the instant/wash off tans in place of the tans just for a temporary fix if your in a time crunch or just want a quick tan for a special occasion.

My experience;
'Naked Tan Goddess instant tan'

Before tanning I made sure to exfoliate my skin with my Grounded body scrub in Chocolate orange and washed my skin with my Body Shop body wash in Strawberry. I don't yet have the 'Naked Tan Body Exfoliator' or the 'Naked Tan Cleanser' but I might just purchase those in the near future. Next, I applied my 'Naked Tan goddess bronzing mouse' generously with a tanning mitt and left the product on my skin for the complete 2 hours.

helpful hint. wear loose clothing or something you don't care for because there is a slight chance you turn your favourite sorts various shades of brown - well done past jaz.

After my two hour wait i jumped into the shower and washed off my tan with my bath lilly. The end result was just as gorgeous as expected. My skin looked as it were glowing and brown. A common misconception of home tanning is that you look too orange or too brown - this couldn't be more incorrect. I really loved these products and recommend them to anyone looking for a high quality, reliable tanning routine. I found that they gave me just the look I was going for. I honestly wish I took a before and after picture that i could feature ughhh,,,,

Where can you purchase these products?
You can purchase all of the above products on Naked Tan's Website and if your lucky enough to live in Australia you can buy them in store - you can locate your closest stock list here. (just scroll down)

Thank you for reading

I'm back | basicjaz

Wow, I've missed this. I'm back - yay! Did you miss me? Nope? I took down my blog around 5 months ago for personal reasons but I'm back now - and better than ever I should hope. I couldn't be more glad to be back on blogger and writing for you all again. I must apologise for my absence however my truancy can be justified - I needed some time away from the many stresses of the internet and felt as though I needed to limit my online workload. Despite this I have been really missing the writing of my weekly blog posts; so here I am... back again.

If your new to my blog and weren't a reader previously then welcome to my blog; sit down, relax and read along because this is a positive space and always will be. My long term goal will be to post weekly (maybe even more - we'll see) This time I wont be sticking to a specific genre of posts: one week I may post a beauty style review and the next a tutorial or a haul. I plan to keep my options open. Before, my content consisted mostly of product reviews; I found that they became very tedious to write (and to read I presume) I have removed all of my previous content and created this blog as a clean slate to start a fresh and hopefully create a new and improved 'basicjaz'

Look out for my next post, if all goes to plan I shall have a new post up every Friday and every Monday. I guess that means I'll see you again on Monday then..
